Finding the Design: Last week I thought I picked out what I wanted to do for my final project, as I continued thinking about it I realized I wanted to do something different. This project is the last one! I am spending three weeks on this project instead of two because it will be more time consuming, this is due to the quantity I have to make. This project will require some of the new skills I have learned so far. The final project is..... glowing clouds! I am super excited and cannot wait to get working! Preparations: Lights (battery powered Christmas lights, any color), lanterns (white), stuffing, hot glue, hot glue gun, and fishing line. Steps: 1. open up lantern 2. glue stuffing on lantern by ripping it in pieces (remember clouds are not smooth) 3. cover the whole lantern except the bottom hole 4. place the Christmas lights inside the lantern by putting it through the bottom hole 5. cover the bottom hole with stuffing but leave an access to the lights 6. you can either keep the lights inside the cloud (so it glows) or let them hang out of the cloud (like it is raining) 7. to make bigger clouds glue two lanterns together 8. repeat these steps for as many clouds you would like to make Challenges I Might Face: On the website where I found this idea there was a warning to be careful because the clouds might catch on fire. That is my biggest concern. Another problem I might have is keeping the lights in the clouds, because they may weigh the lantern down which will make it difficult to hang them, hopefully this will not be an issue. The Final Product: The final product turned out great! Weight wasn't a problem, and I kept them on for over 24 hours and they did not catch on fire. At first I had trouble attaching the stuffing, but I later got the hang of it. I am super happy with all of my projects, but this is my favorite. weeks 9-11
