Preparations: For this project I will need a book, orange spray paint, a stick, white paper, fall colored ribbon, hot glue, and hot glue gun. Steps: 1. Take off the cover of the book 2. Take the white paper and cut out the shape you want your pumpkin to be 3. Now take the cut out piece of white paper and wrap it around the book (you can trace around the paper or staple the paper to the book 4. Cut the book by following the outline of the paper (exacto knives work best, if you only have scissors do 8-10 pages at a time) 5. Then glue the front page and the back page together by lining the side, closer to the spine of the book, with hot glue 6. Spread out the pages and glue some together if there are any gaps (do not glue the tops of the pages, instead glue the side closer to the spine) 7. After the book looks how you would like it to, spray the book with orange spray paint and let it dry (do not spray too close and one coat of paint works best) 8. After the orange spay paint dries, glue on the stick at the top of the book and tie ribbon around it Challenges I Might Face: Last week when I had to spray paint the corks I sprayed the coats to heavy and I was standing to close. Hopefully I will improve my spray paint job, and it will turn out good. Another challenge I might face is cutting the book. Exacto knives work best for projects like this, but I do not have one so I will have to use scissors. Lastly I'm worried that I will not be able to spread out the pages and get them to stay how I would like them. Final Product: I am surprisingly happy with the results. I didn't have anything go wrong. The spray paint looks good, and I had no problem shaping the pages to get the book to look like a pumpkin. Also cutting the book with scissors wasn't as hard as I expected, it just took a little longer. I am very happy with my final product, and I'm glad to see my skills improving! week 5-6
